RICK BART ON COMMERCIAL AIR SERVICE AT PAINE FIELD
By Bryan Bissell, PolitickerWA.com ReporterEverett, WA...Retired Snohomish County Sheriff and Candidate for 2nd Congressional District Rick Bart issued the following statement regarding support for commercial air service at Paine Field:
"Snohomish County Airport (Paine Field) is an underutilized asset. These are tough economic times for people in our County, our State and our Country. Supporting economic development and creating jobs will be my responsibility as our Congressman," said Bart.
"Commercial air service provides significant advantages for companies looking to establish themselves within predictable distances to airports," explains Bart. "Not only will the citizens from Snohomish County benefit from commercial air service, but the District as a whole will benefit from the convenience of commuting shorter distances to travel. Shorter traveling times, avoiding gridlock, saving fuel and reducing emissions are significant reasons to support passenger air service. Opportunities for economic development, tourism and convenience for citizens should be a priority,"
"The District that I hope to represent is growing. Working collaboratively with stakeholders on regional planning and common interests throughout the District must be a priority. We cannot solve all problems independent of one another. A healthy economy, sound economic development and good paying jobs are critical. We must explore opportunities within our District to meet today's and tomorrows future growth by providing services that improve our quality of life."
