CD4 candidate Moody drops bid

At a time when man many candidates are appearing out of the blue, filing week, Wenatchee Democrat Don Moody has decided to go the other way. He announced this morning that he would drop his bid for U.S. Rep. Doc Hastings' (R-Pasco) seat in the 4th District.

Moody cited a lack of financial and party support in his decision. The Democrats have endorsed George Fearing (D-Richland) in the race.

Here is Moody's full statement:

I have decided it would not be in the best interest of the Democratic party for me to continue to pursue my run for Congress. I have neither the resources or the party support.

No campaign contribution checks have been cashed. Those will be returned this week. I thank you so much.

My plans are to continue to be active in community affairs and attempt to gain a foothold in the party structure, for future political considerations.

Please accept my sincere appreciation for all that I have learned from you. It was a very enjoyable experience and I hope to continue the relationships developed.
