Murray talks veterans, Obama and Gregoire

SPOKANE -

Senator Patty Murray entered the stage talking up Barack Obama's presidential candidacy, followed by thanking Hillary Clinton for the race she ran. The mention of both candidates received a large amount of applause.

Talking of America's need to "take our country back" Murray said it begins with taking it back for the veterans, and her statement that she voted against the war in Iraq received a standing ovation from nearly the entire room.

"It is simply unacceptable that our heroes have had to fight their own government for the treatment that they have earned," Murray continued.

Murray also brought up the Air Force tanker deal that is anathema in so many corners of the Evergreen state.

"We certainly don't need a guy in [the White House} who is fighting for Airbus," she said of John McCain.

After focusing on veterans issues, the senior U.S. Senator also implored the election of the congressional and statewide Democrats.

"We're going to hear a lot of scary radio ads by front groups," she warned, invoking Dino Rossi and the BIAW.

But ultimately she used the Democrats' standard points about re-electing Chris Gregoire, that she has done so much and that Dino Rossi can't be trusted.

"The only person we can trust to clean up Puget Sound, there is only one person we can trust to keep this economy moving," Murray said. "And we need to make sure that she is re-elected by a landslide this fall."

OBAMA 08

Obama is the answer to Bushism and the idiocracy of the Administration's disastrous policies of past 8 years that governed America. He will be able to restore the true image, reputation once America enjoyed in the world as a champion of Democracy and Freedom. Obama is truly a visionary leader, a virtuous man who is able to deliver the promise and bring much needed change. We are fighting two wars, have not even captured Osama Bin Laden, economy is in crisis, gas prices are going up on a daily basis and only large oil corporations seem to be doing very well. Americans need a new start and re-think of foreign, domestic, economic and energy policies. Obama represents the change, the new force that will fight for every American and defend the small guy.
