The Washington Conservation Voters, a leading environmental interest group, announced Thursday that they are giving Calvin Goings (D-Puyallup) their sole endorsement for Pierce County Executive.
"For over a decade Calvin Goings has shown a record of environmental leadership on many of our most pressing community priorities," said Sarah Lowe, the co-chair of Pierce County WCV, in a statement.
Goings was pleased by the endorsement, and vowed to continue pushing a plan that he says focuses on "conservation, expanded recreational opportunities, and balanced transportation choices."
"I have worked for many years to improve our quality of life in Pierce County, while in the State Senate, and on the County Council," Goins said. "I am humbled by this endorsement."
Tacoma Democrat Pat McCarthy, Bonney Lake Republican Shawn Bunney, and Tacoma Independent Mike Lonergan are also seeking the post being vacated by attorney general candidate John Ladenburg (D-Tacoma).

Another Endorsement Gone Wrong
I bet the WCV are scratching their collective heads wondering why Goings just voted against the water shed bill meant to protect our environment... I guess Calvin is so confident in his endorsements, he feels obliged to change his stance mid campaign in hopes of misleading some voters of a different view. He is such a Maverick! And definitely the CHANGE candidate!
