Pollet gains endorsements in 46th

Seattle Democrat Gerry Pollet, who is running in the well-documented race against Scott White to succeed state treasurer candidate Rep. Jim McIntire (D-Seattle), announced a handful of endorsements in an e-mail this morning.

Pollet, who has also been highlighting his refusal to accept the financial support of corporations and PACs lately, has the backing of Seattle City Councilmember Nick Licata and former Councilmember Peter Steinbreuck, who had both endorsed White prior to Pollet's entry and now give a dual endorsement, as well as the King County Democrats, who issued a dual endorsement, and the Cascade Bicycle Club.

"Scott has been touting in his mailings the sole endorsement of current and former city council members, including Nick and Peter," Pollet told PolitickerWA.com. "[Their updated endorsement] is indicative of many other people who are on Scott's list who have realized, ‘if I have a choice I am going to endorse Gerry Pollet.'"

Interestingly enough, Pollet seemed to take the most pride in the bicycle club's support.

"This endorsement means a great deal to me," Pollet commented about the Cascade Club's backing, "recognizing my past leadership and commitment to be a champion for the environment, pedestrian and bike safety, transit and non-motorized commuter alternatives to cars."
