LD25 Dems back Goings

Pierce County Councilmember Calvin Goings (D-Puyallup) added yet another endorsement to his list of backers. The campaign announced today that the 25th Legislative District Democrats, from Puyallup, Fife, Milton and Edgewood, issued a sole endorsement to Goings at their monthly meeting last week.

"The 25th Democrats are proud to give our sole endorsement to Calvin Goings. His leadership in the private sector and his hands on experience dealing with the key issues facing Pierce County are critical to our future," said Lauren Adler, Chair of the 25th District Democrats.

Goings also has the sole endorsement of Democrats in Pierce County's 2nd, 26th, 28th, and 31st Legislative Districts. The other Democrat in the race is Pierce County Auditor Pat McCarthy of Tacoma. Bonney Lake Republican Shawn Bunney and Tacoma independent Mike Lonergan are also running. This year's winner will be decided by ranked choice voting for the first time in county history.

Surprise Surprise

Since when is this even news? Of course he would get their endorsement! He's a local politician the folks in the 25th have been grooming since they found him his first real job as a bank teller in the '90s. And with all that "Private Sector Management" experience he earned as a bank teller supervisor, he is grossly over qualified and well suited to manage the second largest county in the state! Knock em Dead Cal! And take their signs too!

The 25th Democrats are right. Calvin Goings is the person we need for our next Pierce County Executive.
