DENVER -- The first speaker of this morning's program, Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano, kept her remarks brief before she headed one room over to address her home state's delegation, and spent much of her time talking about her fellow Grand Canyon Stater and presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Sen. John McCain.
"I do know a little bit about John McCain, and on every issue Democrats care about he is just plain wrong. Tell [your friends and neighbors] about Barack Obama," she implored the delegation, "but tell them about John McCain as well."
The path to universal health care, an "honorable exit from Iraq", a strong education policy, "you get it with Obama," she said, "you don't get with McCain."
But Napolitano's stay on the podium was not without a few local references. Napolitano called Chris Gregoire her favorite governor, and even gave a shout out to Washington's reputation for partying, a claim that was met with great cheer from the gathered Washingtonians.
