Coming just days after the Indiana Democratic Senator and prominent Hillary Clinton supporter Evan Bayh advised his Hoosier State colleagues not to endorse any candidates despite his own actions, Washington state Democratic Party Chair Dwight Pelz is tacking a similar maneuver.
Yesterday the Times' David Postman mentioned a quote from Pelz in the NY Daily News where Pelz said, "It's time for us to end this. The candidates are tearing each other apart, and it's not good for the party. I think we need to have a candidate."
But when Postman followed up with the Democrat, his spokesman suggested that Pelz' advice only worked for other Democratic superdelegates.
"He does not think it’s fair," Democratic spokesman Kelly Steele told the Times, "for the chair of the state party to take sides while we’re still in the progress of choosing delegates."
Although the deadline to register to vote by mail passed on Saturday, you still have until Oct. 20 to register in person.
