Correction: Carlyle not Challenging Sommers, Only Running if Open

A February 14th article at the Politicker stated that "Reuven Carlyle of Seattle will challenge Rep. Helen Sommers this year in the 36th."

In fact, Mr. Carlyle makes it clear on his website that his candidacy is circumstantial, and tied to the event that Sommers does not seek re-election. His statement is as follows:

"Reuven has long been a steadfast supporter of Helen and remains so in every respect. It is important to note that Helen has not made any formal or informal statement regarding whether or not she intends to run for another term. Should she choose to run again, Reuven will return ALL financial contributions from his supporters and offer his unequivocal support for Helen's re-election. It is only if the seat becomes open for the August 19 primary that Reuven will run for State Representative position #1."
