Senator Spanel, Representatives Quall and Linville Endorse Kevin Ranker

Kevin leads Democrats in all three counties

Now that nearly all of the votes have been counted, it has become clear that Kevin Ranker not only advanced to the general election, but also won in all three counties by 11 points overall.  Democratic Party leaders from throughout the area are rallying behind Kevin Ranker.  This week, Senator Harriet Spanel and Representatives Kelli Linville and Dave Quall all endorsed Kevin Ranker.

Kelli Linville, Representative of the 42nd, which shares Whatcom County with the 40th District, had this to say: "While this was a hard-fought primary, it is now important that we get behind our nominee Kevin Ranker.  His experience as a local elected official and his significant understanding of issues from throughout the region will allow him to hit the ground running. He has my full support, and I look forward to working with him in Olympia."

Outgoing State Senator, Harriet Spanel echoed the call for unity and expressed her support for Kevin Ranker. "I have worked with Kevin on a variety of issues. I know that he will use his experience, energy and enthusiasm to serve our area well as our State Senator."

Dave Quall, current 40th District Representative, joined his seatmate Jeff Morris in supporting Kevin Ranker. "Kevin Ranker brings a deep knowledge of the important challenges that face our community in areas such as education, the economy, and the environment. I am excited to work with Kevin in the Legislature because I know he will be a champion for our communities."

Kevin has 15 years professional experience in the private and public sectors, developing and advancing legislation, community development strategies, and conservation initiatives. He has directed numerous organizations and has specialized for several years in working to promote healthy, diverse, and strong communities and jobs, while protecting the environment. Kevin was elected to the San Juan County Board of County Commissioners in 2004. During the past years, Kevin has taken on additional responsibilities that have allowed him to work on issues for the entire region, including Skagit and Whatcom Counties. These commitments have allowed Kevin to represent issues ranging from senior citizen and veteran's needs, to agricultural preservation to health care, education and the environment. Kevin lives on San Juan Island with his wife and daughter.
