Should WA Democratic Chairman Dwight Pelz resign over the Sopranos theme ad controversy?

Yes. It was a calculated attack on Dino Rossi, using his heritage as an Italian American and his construction ties to imply mob

No. It was just trying to imply Rossi was a shady politician making attacks on his opponents through a third party.

Drilling

The short sightedness by the followers of corporate owned media. This week! DRILL! Hello Folks, this isn't going to reduce the price of gas.

Already the oil company's have oil leases their not utilizing. Why give them more of our resource (yes it is the publics lands they are taking from). With not a thought of the environment or the future of the planet or mankind. Until the government is ready to nationalize the oil this is just a smokescreen for Another BIG giveaway of resources to the corporate thiefs. The oil companies will refuse to only sell the oil/gas domestically. It will go to the world market. If you think gas prices are ever going to go down. Think again.

Our dollar is about half value on the world market and guess what that $140 gallon would be? $70 - even that is high. You can thank the Bush Administration and failed congress to allow war without end resulting in the worse deficit ever. All the while the Oil Giants continue with ever increasing record profits.

Those addicted to oil will find it painful. You can't drill your way out of this one. You need to start by conserving. And start realizing oil ain't free. We have enjoyed cheap fuel for way too long. And it is long past time for alternatives.

I remember the oil embargo, too. What really got America was waiting in line for hours just to get gas. Lay offs, that couldn't of possibly been the misadventure in Viet Nam. Resulting in not only death to millions but the last greatest deficit of our country.

We started conserving in the late 70's. Remember 55 mile speed limit, CAFE standards. America used less gas and the price of a barrel went down. Sadly we didn't have leadership that continued conservation and alternatives back in the 80's, 90's and here we are.

incumbents

I feel strongly that WA state incumbents have become power hungry-they are so politisized in our state-if you dare call a Democrat with an idea that they think may link you with the Republican Party they brush you off. Guess what, both parties have moderates.
People, when we vote, pick what are your most important issues.
Our politicains, if they have to go through a time when we no longer vote party but issue, they will start listening.
Case in point. We build planes in our state and planes need oil for manufacturing, distribution and operation. Why in the world would we not drill for oil
If 76% of the Americans want to, even if the only thing we benefit from this is more American jobs, then it is the American people's choice-not the politicians.
If you have not lived through an oil embargo, then you have not seen what an oil embargo can to do a company such as Boeing-cancelled orders, trickel down unemplyment-hmm- due to the small suppliers Boeing buys from, small companies depending on in income from paychecks, less tax income for our state, etc. I experienced this in the 70's when I worked for Boeing -one day I was the lead of 22 people, the next year I was out a job and no job available to me when my unemployment ran out. New threats from Iran-do we think that most Americans can keep surving these unstable fuel markets.
Do we put sun in our tank or use windmill power to heat our homes-not yet-it may be coming but we don't even know if it will be for 20-30 years and what states it would be most advantages to.
We are the 3rd largest producer of oil, and we not only can't drill but we can produce oil the most environmentally safe way for the environment which I guess Congress just thinks the environment - just pertains to the USA- yet politicians say no-say what?
Not drilling for oil is like a high student refusing higher education with the excues it takes toooooo long. Rome was not built in a day but is sure declined fast.

The Republicans have more to worry about than an ad

They should be worried that the top of the ticket is embarrased to call himself Republican.
