Rossi camp accuses WEA of 'smear' effort

The campaign for Republican gubernatorial candidate Dino Rossi is accusing the Washington Education Association of launching a smear campaign against Rossi.

The Rossi campaign is singling out radio advertisements against Rossi over the I-732 initiative.

“Instead of dedicating itself to improving Washington’s education system, the WEA is doing dirty work for Gregoire’s campaign,” said Rossi spokeswoman Jill Strait. “I’m sure it was just an oversight that they didn’t refer to these as the ‘Locke COLA cuts.’  Dino remains committed to a positive education reform agenda that puts children, not special interests, first.”
