Sound Transit, Derailed or Rerailed?

Sound Transit is hard at work trying to convince King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties to expand light rail by ballot measure in 2008 - they've hired not one but two public relations firms to push poll the issue, while willfully ignoring the results of last year's Proposition 1. Meanwhile, the Sierra Club, which led the environmental charge against Prop 1 because it included roads, has vowed to charge again against any new Sound Transit ballot measures unless they include extensive expansions of light rail.

As a sidenote, the campaign manager who led Sound Transit to its resounding defeat in 2007, Kelly Evans, has signed on as campaign manager for Governor Gregoire.
