RNC sees McCain as a good match for state's independent voters

The Republican National Committee has sent a Victory Director to the Evergreen State to coordinate state and national campaigns, with Washington being one of just nine swing states nationwide to receive that designation.

Chris Gulugian-Taylor, a former legislative assistant to state Senator Cheryl Pflug who worked on the Bush-Cheney re-election effort here in 2004, told PolitickerWA.com today that he hoped to "capture the energy and momentum of candidates like John McCain, Dino Rossi and Rob McKenna" in bringing voters to the polls this November.

RNC names state Victory director

The Republican National Committee announced today who would lead the Victory operations in nine swing states earlier today, including right in here in Washington. Former Rudy Giuliani campaign staffer Chris Gulugian-Taylor got the nod for the Evergreen state Victory Director, where he will help to coordinate John McCain's presidential campaign with the other statewide Republican races in the fall.

Gulugian-Taylor's local ties stem from his time at Tacoma's University of Puget Sound, where he graduated in 2003 and his time as an aide in the state Senate.
