Thousands of southern Washington residents cross over the Columbia River to Oregon for work and tax-free shopping. Yet they are forced to pay an Oregon income tax, which makes sense insofar as they made the income in Oregon, but smacks of taxation without representation insofar as they are not permitted to vote in Oregon.

The seven Party Leader & Elected Official (PLEO) delegates pledged to Sen. Barack Obama at the Democratic were chosen Sunday. The group includes a wide range of elected officials from within the party with two state senators, a state representative, a mayor, county chair, county commissioner and even a precinct committee officer.
