Locke being considered for U.S. Trade Rep

A Washington Post report today says that former Washington Governor Gary Locke is one of the top candidates to become the next United States trade representative in the Obama administration.

Locke, a two-term governor who was the nation's first Chinese-American to hold the post, is being considered along with Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.), who is widely seen as the frontrunner for the job if he chooses to accept it. 

Becerra is meeting with President-elect Obama today in Chicago to discuss the position.
