When asked why he refuses to answer questions about issues, abortion for example, during his campaign, gubernatorial challenger Dino Rossi said:
I only have so much time to talk to the voters in the state of Washington. ... This is my campaign. I’ll talk about the issues I want to. When people have the guts enough to run for office they can actually talk about whatever issues they want to talk about.
David Postman has the quote.
Dino gets to decide what he wants to talk about for his campaign. He only has over three months to get his message out. If you want to talk about any other issues, then you better get your own campaign. Otherwise Dino is taking his toys and going home.
We wish he would. He's running to become a public servant in a public office. He's said before that the best ideas come from outside of Olympia (but not from outside of the BIAW). Yet he refuses to answer questions from the public during the campaign, and he refuses to let unvetted members of the public into his so-called town halls. Only Rossi himself gets to decide what issues are important, and what questions are worth answering. It looks like Rossi doesn't want to serve the public at all - he only wants to serve himself.
Last time we checked, serving yourself and ignoring the people is not a very solid platform when you're running for governor.
Although the deadline to register to vote by mail passed on Saturday, you still have until Oct. 20 to register in person.

Just like the other "Decider"
Rossi is running his 2008 like Bush ran his 2004 campaign.
If he thinks that's a winning strategy in Washington state this year he's surely delusional.
