A Survey USA poll conducted after tonight's presidential debate found that Washingtonians are nearly split on who won. Forty percent said McCain won while 38 percent said Obama.
Among independents, McCain won by 43 to 34 percent.
A plurality trust Obama to lead on the economy, a majority think McCain understands Iraq, Iran and Russia better, and a majority think Obama was more presidential.

All of you have to lay off
All of you have to lay off declaring a winner and loser for the debate. The debates are not about winning and losing. They are a chance to see what the candidates will be like if elected president. Both candidates had some good things to say. It is our job as Americans to decide for ourselves who we would rather have as commander-in-chief. And who really cares who won the bloody debate anyway?
Obama/McCain
Why are people so blind? Sarah Palin has more experience governing people that Obama ever has in his life. I am from Illinois the state where Obama resided. Between Blagoyavich and Obama this state went bankrupt and all the underworld cronies in Chicago put Obama where he is now. He came from knowhere to power. On a senators salary, how did he make 4.2 mil last year? Who put him in power? He is only a junior senator and McCain is a seasoned veteran with a track record open to the public. Are Obama's past open for public scrutiny? You have to dig but its out there. So is the stuff Obama does not want you to know. Once a musslim, always a musslim, he knew some of the terrorist responsible for 9/11. Does the media tell ya that? Hell no! B. Hussien Obama is and will be the first socialistic didtator the U.S. will have in power if the idiots of this country elect him into power I am afraid this country, God Bless it, will be screwed.
The slant the media spins
The slant the media spins frustrates me immensely because I give people in this country the benefit of the doubt when it comes to basic intelligence. Granted, many people have hectic schedules that prevent them from keeping up with issues but the democrats are the party of big government and increased taxes. The Republicans are the party of our founding fathers who beleived in less government and fought to free themselves from the straight jacket of ever increasing taxes and more and more government control in their lives.
I have been fortunate enough to invest a considerable amount of time tracking the candidates and their campaigns for the last six months over all networks and some overseas reporting. Some of the seemingly innocent manipulations by a majority of the networks---referring to Osama Bin Laden now as Usama bin Laden to prevent the mental association with "Obama", the absence of coverage by the media of Obama's questionable associations with his pastor Jeremiah Wright, to name a few. Honestly people, Obama's only defense after confessing to attending the church for twenty years, selecting Wright to officiate his marriage, was to explain Wright as being "discriptive" not devisive and finally denying knowledge of Wright's passion for extremist behavior and beliefs. After twenty years, C-mon. Obama is an extremist that can't be trusted to tell the truth. He becomes what he needs to be for the moment in front of the crowd he needs to impress. He is untrustworthy.
Have you seen his middle name in the news lately? If you vote him in because you have not paid attention you will be guilty, you will have a hand in electing Barak Hussien Obama, someone who came from nowhere with no extended legacy of achievement in public service to the highest office in the land. The media is making sure you do.
Government intervention, constant monetary meddling, is why we are in the financial malaise we are. The bailout is the last thing we need and we almost had to swallow it with no guarantee it would solve the problem, just a guarantee we would be another trillion in debt and the people that got us there would be bailed out at our expense. Of all Frannie and Feddie's lobbied dollars the top two recipients were, you guessed it Chris Dodd and Obama. Dodd is the orchestrator of the bail-out. Being a normally intelligent human do you, the reader, see any opportunity for collusion at the highest level. Only you can do something about this. Do your civic duty and research what the media won't ever bring to your living room.
Vote Obama in if you want to see our dependence on foreign oil, which is the true culprit behid a majority of our country's problems, escalate to the point we are reduced a small player in the world economy. Remember, oil is still valued in US Dollars but won't be for much longer. We as a country are "dependent" like we have never been before. Mahmoud AMA-NUT-Job is speaking way more truth than you will ever imagine when he recently told the world at the UN that the US "...is at the end of it's rope".
McCain is our only hope, and we need all the hope and prayers you can muster at this critical juncture in our young country's existence.
Take a moment out of your busy schedule and dig a little deeper, beyond what the media brings into your living room. Many Americans are sheep being led to slaughter by gorging only on what the media feeds them.
Warren Buffet describes the calamity in our financial markets as "The Pearl Harbor of our economy". Irregardless, China will no longer lend to us since we are into them for over a trillion. Banks are falling left and right. You need to wake up, research, and make your vote count.
I could go on for hours listing facts and ideological differences between the two candidates showing exactly why Obama shouldn't be elected but I don't want to anesthetize you with more of what you are being bombarded with on every newscast. I want to simply motivate you to action to dig a little deeper on your own so that you can make an inofrmed decision transcending the media bias and hopefully preventing one of the greatest failures in our country's history--the election of a nobody from nowhere to the highest seat in the land in what still may be the greatest country on this earth. Your effort can make the difference.
In closing, I just want to call upon a quote from Barak's wife Michelle that might help ground you in your quest. Michelle claimed, in front of hundreds of cameras, that, at the selection of her husband as the nominee for the Democratic party's presidential candidate that".....for the very first time in her life she is proud of her country." Help me here. What planet is she from? Didn't she mean it? was it a slip of the tounge? I think it was truth slipping out past all the hate she hides inside.
Michelle wears the pants in the family. Barak has battled abandonemnt issues his entire life after being abandoned by his father and sent away by his mother. His Phsycological profile is not that of a self-confident leader but of a chameleon that changes his appearance to match his surroundings. He is somebody that has a difficult time disagreeing and trys hard to be what everybody want him to be. That is not what we need at the helm.
Please, Please, do your part so that when you vote you do it with a clean conscience that you truly know why you voted for the man you did and at leat know a little more about that mans track record. You owe it to your family, your parents and America.
God Bless you for reading this whole note and God Bless America......
Forget the polls
Remember that online polls are dominated by pimply-faced ones who also voted big time for Sanjaya.
And that "scientific polls" may show whatever the pollsters want to show. Depends upon how they asked the questions, who they polled, how they weighted the answers.
And remember that the TV Talking Heads have their own agendas, too.
Fortunately, regular folks usually have more smarts than the pundits who are paid big bucks to explain all this real hard stuff to the regular folks.
And yes, McCain took Obama behind the woodshed and gave him a spanking.
And yes, we will be hearing the whiney "I have a bracelet too" over the next few weeks. Too bad Obama couldn't remember the guy's name. And too bad there are literally thousands of recent photographs of Obama, sleeves rolled up, and no bracelet in sight.
95%
95% of tax payers not the population. Dummy
How is Obama going to cut
How is Obama going to cut taxes on 95% of Americans win only 67% of Americans actually pay taxes? John McCain wants to cut taxes on large companies not to help them make more profits but to allow them to grow and make it possible for new businesses to come here and old businesses to stay here. It is just simple common sense that when you raise taxes on a business they raise prices on the consumer until they can't raise them anymore and they have to go belly up. If Obama does what he proposes you will see a rapid decline in our economy and many many business fail and even more people loosing their jobs. So what if he cuts the middle class taxes a little bit if prices of everything skyrocket it won't matter because you will still be broke if you are lucky enough to keep your job! Check your history Democrats never cut taxes for the middle class because they want as much of our money as possible to keep control of our lives. This election REALLY COUNTS! I love my country to much to see it fall, and thats what is going to happen if Obama gets it!!
McCain won by a landslide. I
McCain won by a landslide. I think some of the polls are done by calling districts that are traditionally democratic, which makes them entirely un-scientific. Network bias proves this to be very possible. If who "won" the debate is based on the most knowledgeable, competent person to lead the greatest nation on earth...The answer is clear: John McCain. Obama was jittery, rude with continuous interruptions, and near hostile at times. John McCain was clear, precise, substantive, and direct with his answers. One point he made very clear: He is the one who works with democrats and republicans - Obama does not, proved with his 97% "left" voting record. How do you trust a guy who says he will unite democrats and republicans but his record proves he doesn't do that? Obama is scary: It is proved he changes positions just to try to get elected. McCain is solid as a rock, and the ONLY candidate we can trust to lead this nation.
McCain's win on first debate
McCain dominated the debate. Obama simply cannot hold a candle to McCain for certainty, stability and production. It showed in Obama's "performance". He looked unhappy, stumbled, hesitated, etc. Poor show.
Obama's views on foreign policy are shaky because he is out of touch with the current scenario and doesn't get the implications on the world stage of the things he says he wants to do. Perfect example was his statement about attacking Pakistan. McCain pointed out that if you're going to attack a country, you don't TELL them you're going to attack. Obama doesn't understand strategy and McCain drove that point home. Thus, I don't trust Obama to do the right thing in a crunch, because he didn't handle himself well in a debate. Not a favorable sign for Obama. He is out of his league next to McCain who knows what has to be done and is capable of doing it. He also doesn't have the rock-solid certainty that McCain has and appears to not be able to wield the same power.
Obama looks nice in his suit and tries very hard to be a smooth talker, which some have bought. Also, his referring to McCain as John was patronising and not professional.
Clueless posters.
CBS and Media curves are Democratic slants, just as is NBC.
Fox says McCain wins 84% - 14. So believe what you will.
The bottom line was that Obama was supposed to win this debate in a landslide.
Either side could claim victory in certain areas. Neither side had a sound bite.
McCain hurt himself by not being as emotional as Obama and by not wearing his lapel fin.
Obama hurt himself by having to look at the name on his wristlet, by not being able to say, "I've been there" or "I've sat down with" (This is not name dropping, this is called experience).
Neither side clearly won, but because of Obama's alleged strength as a speaker, he hurt himself by not winning big.

Obama was the clear winner in instant poll results.
CBS polled 500 undecided voters.
40% said Obama won
22% said McCain won
38% said it was a tie

CNN's instant poll of 524 voters had Obama winning 51% to 38%.
MediaCurves had a focus group of Independent voters
61% said Obama won, 39% McCain won

The Frank Luntz focus groups also said Obama won.
The favorite statement for Frank Luntz's focus group that has wires connected to people for measuring their responses:
.
Mr. McCain’s judgment in supporting the Iraq war.
.
“You like to pretend like the war started in 2007 — you talk about the surge. The war started in 2003,” Mr. Obama said. “At the time, when the war started, you said it was going to be quick and easy. You said we knew where the weapons of mass destruction were. You were wrong. You said that we were going to be greeted as liberators. You were wrong.”.

The Frank Luntz focus groups on Palin was 2 to 1 against Palin

huh?
Odd how this poll differs from every other "insta-poll" that I have viewed tonight, by a large degree. ALL others seem to clearly show an Obama win among independents.
