Voters: yes to economic fix, no to this one

A plurality of Washingtonians (37 to 30 percent) want their representative to vote for some kind of economic rescue plan according to a Survey USA poll. Republicans are opposed 34 to 44 percent while Democrats are in favor 47 to 22 percent. Independents are also opposed 37 to 30 percent.

But when it comes to the specific plan being considered by Congress, voters across the board are opposed. Overall, only 15 percent of voters support the effort while 40 percent oppose it, with Republican opposition (15 to 50 percent) higher than among Democrats (14 to 35 percent) and independents (24 to 43 percent).
