Obama a clear winner on economy and foreigh policy
With the Republican ticket down in the polls, Obama had only to play even in this town hall style format in order to win. Instead Obama trounced McCain, sounding better prepared, better informed, and more in touch with regular Americans. Most people expected Obama to dominate on the economy, and he did. But he also scored points on foreign policy, pointing out how the war in Iraq has "put an enormous strain on our budget...and alliances" making it difficult or impossible for the U.S. to help out in humanitarian crises elsewhere in the world.
