Incumbent Attorney General Rob McKenna faces an easy challenge by former Pierce County Prosecutor and Executive John Ladenburg. Although Ladenburg enjoys being a Democrat in what is certainly a Democratic year, McKenna has given voters no reason to oust him. A moderate record with little flash and solid cooperation with Governor Gregoire leaves McKenna in good shape to keep his office.
Sources wonder if McKenna wants to follow in Gregoire's footsteps. Assuming that Dino Rossi fails to win the gubernatorial election again, Rob McKenna is the next best thing that state Republicans have to a rock star - at least until Reagan Dunn comes of age. McKenna would be 50 in 2012, and Washington may yet be ready for the next Republican governor.
How many videos do the Democrats have to make showing yet another Dino Rossi event that is closed to the public? At least one more. >
I’m off through July 23 for some much needed rest and relaxation. I'll be heading up to Niagara Falls and Buffalo, and then down to wine ... >
